這件作品兩三年前在 tate modern 上班時就有看過
外觀是個鏡面的大盒子
裡面卻是個四面透明的廁所
沒機會親自嘗試因為門口隨時都大排長龍
但我想用這間廁所應該需要一定的膽量吧
上到一半轉頭搞不好還會看到有人在你屁股旁邊補口紅!

julie rrap 的這張照片讓我頭皮發麻
雖然可以明顯的看出是假的
但還是表現出女人會為了愛美而犧牲的代價

相信長期閱讀設計報的人都知道
我很討厭別人擅自的抄襲或”借用”
之前 po 過的 roger arquer 借用marti guixe的魚缸概念後
又看到一個更令我傻眼的公司

i cannot tolerate people stealing or “borrowing” design ideas
especially the concept of ripping off young designers just disgusts me
a few days ago, i wrote about how roger arquer’s fish bowls are very similar to marti guixe’s concepts
but 2 days ago, i saw something that’s just ridiculous
so today, i’m posting this bilingually purely for name and shame purposes.

無意間看到 suck uk 的新產品 – mix tape USB

哇 跟我一年多前作的作品 audio stick 一模一樣ㄝ!
(其中有一部分討論到消失的 mix tape 的文化)

將我的概念這樣從新包裝後大量生產
看到時真的又氣又恨…
雖然這已經不是第一次了
但想想可能是巧合所以也沒多想

昨天在別的網站上看到 suck uk 今年的其他新產品
我真的傻眼…因為七八個產品裡有許多個都是”借用”別人的idea

a few days ago while surfing, I accidently came across suck uk’s new product – mix tape USB
“wow, a repackage of my audio stick project” i said to myself
(part of that project talked about usb sticks replacing the lost mix tape culture)
i was furious but then thought it could all be a coincidence
so i didn’t think much of it

but yesterday, i had a quick look at suck uk’s website and discovered…

除了上述的產品外
還”借用”了 Onkar Kular 設計的 pantone mug

將原本幽默的概念改成了一個很醜且被大量生產的馬克杯…

other than the product mentioned above
they also “borrowed” Onkar Kular’s pantone mug and turned it into my cuppa
a mug with badly designed graphics
completely ditching the poetic side of the original project

現在網路資訊很發達
很容易得到很類似的靈感
但也因為網路的便利
能夠快速查到世界各地設計師的作品
照理說應該更不容易作出類似的產品才對
但還是有人會抱著 it’s okay… 用一下無所謂的心態
真的很糟糕

it’s true that with the internet so developed
people are more likely to be stimulated about the same things
however, it is also internet that makes it easier for designers to check things
confirming an idea is new and unique is only a few clicks away
unfortuantely, there will always be people who thinks it’s okay…
it’s okay to just use parts of other people’s design
or worse, the whole thing!
disgusting…

我不是很喜歡過度被設計的包裝
所以前兩天看到 B_E_E 所設計的清潔用品就非常喜歡
很簡潔 很幽默 也點出了某些人(像我…)對清潔的挑剔

David Sweeney 設計的花瓶會提醒主人何時該澆花
花瓶中的水越空
花瓶就倒的越斜
最後桌上就有一瓶看似已經倒地不支的花…

很喜歡 roger arquer 設計的魚缸
雖然跟 marti guixe 之前設計的一個概念很類似
但 marti 的概念停留在紙上
roger 則是將概念轉換成實品
每個魚缸都有著特別的功能
也為人與魚, 魚與魚創造了新的關係

上面第一個魚缸適合讓大魚和小魚共存的魚缸
下面則是一個給魚隱私的魚缸

Maxim Velcovsky 設計的蠟燭台叫 little joseph
是個小男孩的頭
溶化的蠟就會變成他的頭髮
每支蠟燭都會帶給他新的髮型
也可以點上不同顏色的蠟燭將它改變髮色

之前介紹過個的展覽 chocolate! 是在新的東京新開的展覽館 21_21 design sight
建築是由知名日本設計師 tadao ando所設計
整個展場則是由 Issey Miyake, Taku Satoh, 和 Naoto Fukasawa 幾位大將親自指導
21_21 design sight 希望能展現出設計未來
但以目前的展覽看來有些不符合主旨的感覺
看不出有任何未來感…
希望能展出更多和科技相關的展覽

link mugs 是個可以連在一起的馬克杯
兩隻手一次可以拿七八個杯子
讓我想起以前在學校幫同學買汽水
一次買了好幾瓶
因為貪心想要一次拿完
左右手中間疊了一堆
但是走樓梯時一歪
除了左右手那兩瓶
其他全都在地上

先前很榮幸在法國能和marti guixe 一同展出
也有機會聽到他的演講
其中我自己最喜歡的一個概念是他設計的 food facility
是一家概念性餐廳
裡面有著簡單的桌椅, 餐具
menu 則是週遭所有餐廳的外送 menu
客人可以點各式各樣的料理
餐點則會在半小時內送達
這樣一來節省餐廳的開銷
客人也可以同時享用許多不同餐廳的美食
